Nigerian secondary schools usually grade with the WAEC-style scale, from A1 (excellent) to F9 (fail). Type a score to see its grade and remark, or pick a grade to see which scores earn it.
| Score | Grade | Remark | Counts as |
|---|---|---|---|
| 75 – 100 | A1 | Excellent | Credit pass |
| 70 – 74 | B2 | Very good | Credit pass |
| 65 – 69 | B3 | Good | Credit pass |
| 60 – 64 | C4 | Credit | Credit pass |
| 55 – 59 | C5 | Credit | Credit pass |
| 50 – 54 | C6 | Credit | Credit pass |
| 45 – 49 | D7 | Pass | Pass (below credit) |
| 40 – 44 | E8 | Pass | Pass (below credit) |
| 0 – 39 | F9 | Fail | Fail |
This is the common WAEC-style scale used by many Nigerian secondary schools. A score with a decimal, such as 74.5, is graded by its cut-off (74.5 is B2 because it is below 75). Your school may use a different scale, so follow your own.
The table is a common example, not a rule. Your school can set its own bands and remarks. What matters is that the bands have no gaps (a score of 44.5 must land somewhere) and that every teacher uses the same scale. StudyPat lets a school set its grading scale once and warns about gaps.
